Captain David Bixler Aycock, 44, of David Providence of Chiriqu, Panama died December 24 in Stuart, FL. Born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL January 3, 1962, he was a sixth generation Floridian, moving to Stuart in 1967.

Bix was a 1980 graduate of Martin County High School, where he was on the surfing team as well as the gymnastic team and member of the cheer leading squad. At the age of 10, Bix won a Casting Contest in Jensen Beach. At 18 years old he received his Coast Guard Captain License and began his sport fishing career. He was an active tournament fisherman in FL, NC, MD, NJ, Venezuela and Mexico. In 2002 he entered the Maritime Industry, where he worked as an able body Seaman in the Gulf of Mexico on Supply Ships for the Oil Rigs. In 2003 he moved to Panama, Central America, where he continued his Maritime career and pursued his hobbies of surfing and fishing. He received his 200 ton Masters License in 2004.

SERVICES: Friends and relatives may call Wednesday, December 27th from 6-8p at the Aycock Funeral Home Chapel in Jensen Beach. A Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 28th, 11a at the Aycock Funeral Home in Jensen Beach with Reverend Bernie Van Eyk of Grace Presbyterian Church in Stuart officiating. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Jensen Beach. Arrangements are under the direction of Aycock Funeral Home, Jensen Beach.
