Age 88, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at her home. She was born Feb. 13, 1915, in Edgar, Wis., daughter of Harry and Mary (Wilson) Vedder. Virginia married Roy C. Rhyner, Nov. 18, 1939, in Marshfield. She was a 1932 graduate of Marshfield High School. She attended William and Mary College and was a 1936 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Vero Beach, Fla., North Shore Country Club, Vero Beach Country Club and Vero Beach Yacht Club.
Mrs. Rhyner is survived by her husband, Roy; two daughters; two sons; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Barker, Tehachapi, Calif.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters: Jeanette Deckert and Lillian (Stanley) Morner; a brother, Harry Vedder.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Sept. 18, 2003, at St. Patrick Church with Rev. Roy Geenen officiating. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the mass. A memorial has been established for the retired School Sisters of Notre Dame, Elm Grove.
