Marjorie was born in Turner County, GA to the late James Harvey and Eva Culpepper Evans and was the third of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Herman Dix, Felton Tyler and Roy Henry, three sisters and three brothers.
She has lived in Macon since 1950 where she raised her three children. Her love for her children and God was a top priority in her life. She was a founding member of Unity Baptist Church and former member of the New Elim Baptist Church and the Ruth Bible Class.
Marjorie retired from Allied Corporation where she served for several years, as President of the company union, United Cement, Lime and Gypsum (UCLGW) workers. Her retirement years were spent with her family, traveling, gardening and spoiling her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed square dancing as a member of the Y Square and Pairs and Squares with her husband Roy.
Marjorie was a loving and devoted wife and mother and was affectionately called "MeMe" by her adoring grand and great grandchildren. A true Southern lady with all of her charm, generosity and fabulous cooking, always made you feel loved and welcomed in her home. Her fun loving personality, quick wit, infectious smile and contagious laugh made everyone who knew her feel special and blessed. She always met life's challenges with determination and humor – a True Steel Magnolia.
The family would like to thank Dollie Sanders for her gentle, faithful and loving care given to Mrs. Henry during her illness.
