Edna V. Broschart, age 98 years, a resident of the Jimtown Community, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown.

She was born November 19, 1917 at Chestnut Flats, Barbour County, a daughter of the late George W. and Miranda Wagner Regester.

On January 1, 1935 at Harding, WV, she was married to Claude N. Broschart who preceded her in death December 21, 1969.

Surviving are two sons, Patrick Broschart and Robert Broschart and wife Terry all of Jimtown and son-in-law, Frank Decker of Raleigh, NC.

One daughter, Marie Chestnut Nees of Cloverdale, IN, twenty four grandchildren, forty two great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Patty Broschart and a sister-in-law, Mary Lanford also survive.

Edna was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by two sons, John Broschart and George Broschart, two daughters, Jean Decker and Judi Rowan, a grandson, Denny Broschart, sons-in-law, Gordon Nees and John Chestnut, five brothers, Martin, Ray, Guy, Troy and Burton and five sisters, Ethel, Ruth, Marie, Jessie and Mary.

Edna was employed as a cook at the Memorial General Hospital and was employed as a cook for the Randolph County Schools at the time of her retirement.

She was a lifetime member of the PTA and the Randolph County Association of Retired School Employees and a founding member of the Phillips Chapel Church at Jimtown.

Edna was loved by family, friends and the community and was well known for providing a home with a warm welcome and hearty meal.

Her pepperoni rolls were loved by her grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 28th from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jim Murphy officiating.

Interment will follow in the Phillips Cemetery at Jimtown.
