Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Vaughn, 79, a resident of this area until five years ago when she went to Milwaukee to make her home with a sister, Mrs. Joseph Eiden, died there at 2 a.m. today in Misericordia Hospital, where she had been a patient for two weeks.
Funeral services will be held here Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. L. H. Timmerman will officiate at a 10:30 a.m. funeral Mass. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery.
Beginning Wednesday noon friends may call at the Rembs Funeral Home where a general rosary will be said at 8:15 that evening.
The former Dorothy Wilcott was born in Bakerville May 11, 1878, and attended schools there and in Marshfield. She lived in Bakerville until her marriage which took place Sept. 10, 1914 [sic], at St John's Catholic Church here. She then lived on a farm in the town of McMillan until moving to Milwaukee, where she was a member of St. Rose Church.
Survivors are one son, Lt. Col. Charles G. Vaughn, Tokyo, Japan; four sisters and a brother, Mrs. (Stelli) Eiden, Milwaukee, Mrs. Mattie Furstenberg, Park Falls, Mrs. Agnes Welch, Beloit, Mrs. Anna Dittburner, Friendship, and William Wilcott, Pinehurse, Idaho; and three grandchildren. Her husband, two children and a brother, Joseph, preceded her in death.
