*Marge Elaine Anderson, age 78 of Mitchell, SD died on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Sanford Select Specialty Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Her memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD.

Marge Elaine Chivington was born on February 12, 1938 in Farmer, SD to Donald T. and Rosalia (Schladweiler) Chivington. She was raised and received her education in Farmer.

In 1954 Marge was in a relationship with Francis Guischer, from this relationship Marge was blessed with the birth of Debbie and later Donna. As a result of financial hardships, Marge made the difficult decision to give Donna up for adoption. Donna was adopted and raised by Jim and Helen Kroger of Cody, NE. Following the death of Jim and Helen, Marge resumed her role as mother to Donna on November 2, 2013.

Marge was united in marriage with Mervin Gardner in 1958; from this union Marge gave birth to a daughter, Mona. Mona was raised by her paternal grandparents: Merril and Esther Gardner in Beloit, IA.

On July 3, 1959 Marge was united in marriage with John “Jack” Anderson. The couple made their home in Canton, SD and Marge gave birth to her only son, Scott (Scotty) and her fourth daughter, Cindy. Marge moved to Mitchell, SD in 1987.

On January 10, 1992, Marge found the love of her life and soulmate, Donald Tischler in Mitchell, SD. Marge and Donald made their home in Mitchell.

Marge worked for most of her life as a waitress and cook at the Coffee Shop in Canton and the I-90 Café in Mitchell. She also worked as a clerk at Coburns Gas Stop in Mitchell. She enjoyed cooking, baking Christmas cookies, playing cards, playing dice games, playing numerous computer games, but her favorite was always Majhong. She was so excited when she learned how to Skype with her family and became a Techie! Marge also enjoyed reading books on her Kindle, crocheting, canning, and the Holidays. Above all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Marge was a hard worker, and has lived a crazy life. She played the hand she was dealt and did the best with what she had. Marge had a “Heart of Gold” and would help anyone in need.

Grateful for having shared her life are her three daughters: Donna (Simon) Ohori of Bellevue, NE, Mona Gardner of Lennox, SD and Cindy (David) Ross of Sioux Falls, SD; soulmate of 28 years, Donald Tischler of Mitchell, SD; Donald’s children: Dawn (Monty) Culver, Cindy (Ray) Dangel and Donnie Tischler Jr.; grandchildren: John (Gina) Skinner, Kerrie (Grant) Shaffer, Eldon Sanow, Duane (Sarah) Sanow, Jessica (Scott) Anderson, Brooke (Telly) Rollinger, Daniel (Sarah) Bakker, Matthew (Janae) Bakker, Jerry (Michelle) Butler, Cory (Jami) Butler Troy Ross and Beth Ross; Don’s grandchildren: John (Rachel) Culver, Jeni (John) Doely, Sami Culver, Ben (Tanya) Culver, Brent (Melissa) Culver, Chad Dangel, Brittany Dangel and Tye Schaefer; great-grandchildren: Madison and Dylan Skinner, Ashur, Jase, Ackley and Taylor Sanow, Devin and Brady Mooney, Mariah and Megan Miller, Miami, Dawson and London Anderson, Tessa and Gavin Shaffer, Carter and Roxann Rollinger, Adeline Bakker, Hailey and Hannah Butler, Edyn and Camryn Butler; Donald’s great-grandchildren: Oliver, Sawyer and Gunner Culver, Damon, Dominik, and Korbin Culver & Kallie and Cole Culver and Jessa Doely; one great-great grandson, Taten Anderson; one sister, Charlotte (Gary) Dilges of Mt.
