Son of Thomas Wilborn Lanford and Lilla Matilda Parker. Husband of Ruth Davis, and later, Loita Marie B. Lauderdale.

With Ruth Davis, he was the father of Horace Galton Lanford and Willis Warren Lanford.

Mr. Lanford served in the military during World War I.

Horace L. Lanford, 78, of 3 Pillow Road died Saturday. A resident of Austin for 30 years, Mr. Lanford was retired from the Singer Sewing Machine Co. having been with them for 40 years. Mr. Lanford was a former resident of San Antonio, having a Church Letter with Beacon Hill Baptist Church in San Antonio and the First Baptist Church in Seguin. He had attended Sabinal High School and had served in the 475 Aero Squadron during World War I.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday in the Weed-Corley Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Avery officiating. Burial will be at Forest Oaks Memorial Park. Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Loita B. Lanford, Austin; two sons, Horace G. Lanford, San Antonio, and Willis Warren Lanford, San Antonio; one daughter, Sally Johnson, Tripoli, Libya; seven brothers, two sisters; eight grandchildren.
