In 1966, the road that led down to the bridge across the Spokane River (from Northwest Boulevard) was named for T.J. Meenach, a Spokane businessman who had served on the Park Board for many years, including some as president. In 1970, the bridge also took the name. Each year, tens of thousands of Bloomsday participants enjoy the view each May.
