Shawnee resident Albert Eldon Ailey Sr., 62, died Saturday, Nov. 25, at a local nursing home.
Albert was born Oct. 3, 1944, in Shawnee to Isaac and Cora (Hembree) Ailey.

He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and Korea. He also served in France and Germany and throughout the United States. He retired from the Army in 1982. Later he worked for the City of Shawnee Water Deparment, Postal Service and Dinsmore Tractors.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners in Germany, V.F.W. and The Liar Club (a coffee group.)

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Earl and Roy Ailey.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ailey of the home; three sons, Joseph Ailey, Albert Ailey Jr. and wife, Zandra, Nick Ailey and wife, Ashley; granddaughter, Amarissa Ailey; grandsons, Dallas and Ryder Ailey; brothers, Edward Ailey and wife, Carol, of Harrah, Harold Ailey and wife, Juanita, of Shawnee; nephew, Wade Ailey of Kent, England.

Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service with Mike Wester officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
