Serving in the U. S. Navy in World War II, he was engaged in military action in the battle of Okinawa. Reed was a rancher and cattleman in Teasdale. He moved his family to Spanish Fork in 1955 and retired from McNally Mountain States Steel.
Survived by his wife, Elnora and 6 children: Dorothy (Brent) Hales, Jane (Jack) Topham, Geraldine (Steve) Lawrence, Ronald (Barbara) Williams, Wendell (JanaLee) Williams, Edith (Lee) Brown, 28 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; a brother, Dwight Williams; and a sister, Marva Baker.
His parents, three brothers, Orawell, Dyle, an infant brother, Bryce and a sister, Ardis Smith predeceased Reed.
