Mr. Ackner had lived in Watervliet 33 years. He had been employed for 30 years by Peterson-Packer Fuels Inc. of Troy, and the last six years by Fagan Fuel Co., Troy. In addition to the church society, he was a member of Arsenal City Hose Co., Watervliet, and the Men's Discussion Club, Troy.

Surviving are his wife, the former Anna Quest; a son, Thomas J. Ackner, and six sisters, Mrs. Anna Wendell, Amelia Ackner, Mrs. Betty Smith, all of Troy; Mrs. Charlotte Smith, Crooked Lake; Mrs. Jennie Momrow, Taborton; and Mrs. Mae Brown, Stephentown. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
