Gasper Abbate Sr. passed away at home. He was born in San Antonio, Texas to Adelina and Joseph Abbate.
He was a local business owner, a loving husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. Gasper is survived by his Son Gasper Abbate Jr., daughters Yolanda Rubio, Elizabeth Cushing, and son in-law George; siblings Sam, Raymond, Betty, Anita, Lena, Mary Angela. He also leaves his cherished eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, & friends.
Family and Friends are invited to a viewing Sunday Oct. 23, at Sorensen Chapel 1140 B St, Hayward, CA from 4:00pm-7:00pm. His Celebration of Life will be Monday Oct. 24, at 10:00 am, St. Cuthbert's Episcopal Church 7932 Mountain Blvd, Oakland, CA; Burial at St Mary Cemetery on 4529 Howe St in Oakland at 11:00am. Reception to follow at Church.
