Cotton - Monday afternoon, Aug. 27, 1934, at Jordonia, Tenn., at 4 o'clock, Hubert M. Cotton, aged 61 years. Survived by wife, Mrs. Carrie (Tucker) Cotton; one son S. A. Cotton of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. E. W. Farley of Nashville, Tenn. and Mrs. Wallace Lazenby of Brentwood, Tenn.; two brothers, John Cotton of Arrington, Tenn. and Thomas Cotton of Overall, Tenn. The remains are at the parlors of Sweeney Funeral Home, 111 Woodland Street. Leaving the funeral parlors Wednesday morning, Aug. 29, at 8:30 o'clock, the remains will be conveyed to the house of his sister, Mrs. E. W. Farley, eight miles Granny White Road. Funeral services at the residence at 10:30 o'clock, services conducted by Rev. George Allen. Tinsley Hunt, E. J. Farley, J. W. Farley, Thomas Cotton, Robert Cotton, and Oscar Breedlove will serve as pallbearers. Internment at the Cotton family cemetery. J. H. Sweeney, funeral director in charge.

Gravesite Details

Tombstone missing. A later owner dug up the stones in this cemetery and laid them flat to facilitate mowing. Several stones were removed completely and stacked in a nearby barn. Their present whereabouts are unknown.
