Velda J. Eckel, 88, of Streator, formerly of Pontiac, passed away at 7:02 am Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at her residence in Streator, IL.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 21, 2016 at South Side Cemetery in Pontiac. Calvert & Martin Funeral home in Pontiac is handling the arrangements.
Velda was born on February 11, 1928 in Minonk, IL a daughter of Fred and Elsie (Mosback) May, she married Andy Eckel II on March 9, 1969, He preceded her in death on March 8, 1985.
Surviving is one sister: Joyce (Ron) Christmann of Streator, IL; two step-sons: Andy (Shirley) Eckel III of Pontiac, IL and David (Beth) Eckel of Tallahassee, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
