Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Scott, for Michael John Ancelet, 68, who died on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Kathy Broussard Ancelet; his children, Robby Ancelet and wife Kimberly, Susan Sonnier and her partner Robert Hebert, and Brad Ancelet; his grandchildren, Blain Sonnier, Michael W. Ancelet, Macy Ancelet, and Piper Ancelet; and his sister, Catherine Ancelet Jobe.

He was preceded in death by parents, Lenis and Amelie Ancelet; and his step brother, Raywood Viator.

A native of New Iberia, a resident of Scott for many years, Michael had resided in Lafayette for the last 12 years. Always a hard worker, he worked for Evangeline Maid Bakery, Halliburton, and was most recently an auto mechanic at WalMart for 16 years until he retired. His joys were drinking coffee with friends and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
