Betty was born in Camp Hill, PA on May 5, 1928, the daughter of the late Roy and Violet (Rohrer) Eppley. She was a retired from the PA Game Commission, Harrisburg, PA. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church Marysville, where she was very active in all church activities.
Betty was a past president of the Marysville Golden Age Club, former board member of the Marysville-Rye Senior Citizens Center, a member of the Marysville Fire Co. Auxiliary, the Auxiliary of VFW, Post 882, Marysville, Senior Life of the Marysville Church of God, The Auxilary of the Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon, the Happy Travelers Club and a Republican Poll Worker for many years. She was the widow of Dallas M. Ashenfelder, Sr.
Betty is survived by a daughter, Gay J., wife of Dennis L. Sterner, of ShermansDale, two sons, Dallas M. Ashenfelder, his wife, Jeannie, of Duncannon and Lon K. Ashenfelder, his wife, Joyce, of Marysville, a brother, Richard Eppley, of Enola. Also her grandchildren, Chad D. Sterner, Travis L. Sterner, Lona Cooper, Lon W. Ashenfelder, Tyler S. Ashenfelder and four great-grandchildren, Alana, Levi, Wyatt and Elias.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 in the Bethany United Methodist Church, 400 Lansvale Street, Marysville, with Pastor Laura Kincaid and Pastor Rodney K. Miller officiating. Interment will be private at convenience of the Family in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville. Arrangements are entrusted to the Michael J. Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association , 1019 Mumma Road, Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
