Born in Jefferson on February 20, 1933 he was a son the late Christian O. and Virgie Naomi Lamm Brashears. He was employed as a paver operator with Genstar until his retirement.
He is survived by one son Carroll Robert Brashears Jr. of Jefferson; one daughter, Sue Yeager and husband Richard of Knoxville; three grandchildren, Christina Poffenberger, Patty J. Guyton and Carroll R. Brashears III; eight great-grandchildren, John Michael Fagnano III, Dylan Eugene Fagnano, Luke Robert Fagnano, Blake Poffenberger, Paige Poffenberger, Wyatt Guyton, Elena Guyton and Hunter Nalley; five sisters, Shirley Miller of Braddock Heights, Arva Hutzell of Jefferson, Darlene Green of Wolfsville, Ruby Darr of Brunswick and Hazel Masser of Funkstown and one brother, Donald Brashears of Braddock Heights.
He was predeceased by a son Donald Eugene Brashears in 1981, a granddaughter, Rebecca Fagnano in 2009 and also several brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday October 19 at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held 2 PM on Thursday October 20 from the Funeral Home. Rev. Arthur Pete Baugher will officiate. Interment will be made in the Jefferson Methodist Cemetery.
