MCLEAN, Lula Allene Tiner Born on February 28, 1929 and died on December 27, 2015, both in Dallas, Texas, at age 86. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Seale Tiner, and her father, Ivory B. Tiner, her sister, Catherine Tiner, brothers Bill Tiner and Jack Tiner. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Salem Francis McLean, 8 children: Cathy McConn, Theresa Brown, Patty Cunningham, Tom McLean, Paul McLean, Mary Grimes, Mike McLean and Evelyn McLean, and their 7 spouses, her sister, Kathleen Cothrum and brother Tom Tiner, 24 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She dearly loved her husband, her children and her extended family and showed it in many ways. She joined the Catholic Church after she met her future husband at UT Austin and was very active in Church societies. She loved singing in the Dallas Catholic Choir and the St. Bernard Choir, under the direction of Fr. Ralph March, O.Cist., for 22 years. The choir made frequent trips to Europe to sing at many churches and cathedrals. She was active in the Altar Societies of St. Bernard and St. Thomas Aquinas, Girl Scouts, was a Counselor at the White Rose Women's Center for many years, worked at the Ladies of Charity Thrift Store for many years, was active with her husband in the Knights of Columbus, Council 799 and the Fr. Abram J. Ryan Assembly, in Dallas, and the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem and was a docent at the Dallas Arboretum. She loved to cook and taught her five daughters the art. She also loved flowers and had a green thumb and passed that on to her daughters as well. She will be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 2 at 9:15 am, Rosary at 10:00 am, followed by the Funeral Mass, all at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 6306 Kenwood Avenue, Dallas TX 75214, with Rev. John Libone presiding. Burial will be at Calvary Hill Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to either St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (listed above) or the White Rose Women's Center, (www.whiterosewomenscenter.org).
