Mrs. Cullifer was born on September 6, 1932 to Picott and Ethel Mae Barnes Harrington in Lewiston, NC. Ann was a dedicated hard working mother. She was an administrative assistant for Harrington Manufacturing until the close of the business. Ann then made her way to Raleigh where she worked for the department of transportation and the department of agriculture before retiring at the age of 82. She was a member of Lewiston First Baptist. Ann enjoyed flowers and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Vernon Cullifer and her brother, J.J. “Monk” Harrington.
Ann is survived by her , daughter, Dana C. Wiggins and her husband Jim of Lewiston Woodville; two sons, William Harrington Cullifer and his wife Lynn of West End, NC, and Julian Patrick Cullifer of Oak Island, NC; two grandsons, Lee Bunch of Windsor, NC, and Stephen Bunch and his wife Becky of Greenville, NC; four granddaughters, Brittany Tagliareni and her husband Andy of West End, Marcie Milbredt of West End, Lauren Tierney of West End, and Maci Cullifer of Oak Island; great-grandson, Hatteras Bunch; great-granddaughter, Camryn Bunch; sister, Jean Norfleet and her husband Bill of Roxobel, NC, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 14, 2016, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Lewiston First Baptist Church, Lewiston-Woodville, with Rev. Anita Thompson, officiating. Burial will follow at Hoggard Memorial Cemetery, Lewiston-Woodville.
The family extends a special heartfelt thank you to the special caregivers, Sherry Watson and Dorothy Askew for the wonderful care and love shown to Mrs. Cullifer during her sickness.
