Manuel Kenneth (Sweade) Erickson
Swede Erickson, 60, of Elgin, died Friday at Walla Walla, Wash., following an illness of about a year.
Erickson was born on May 29, 1915, at Juliaetta, Idaho, the son of Frederick and Clara (Wells) Erickson. He moved to Elgin at the age of three.
On June 1, 1947 , he married Betty M. Horn at Elgin.
Survivors besides his wife Betty include; sons, Fredrick and Gary both of La Grande, Ken Reno and Joe Erickson, both of Elgin; 10 grandchildren; brothers Wade Wells of Elgin, Milton Erickson of Hermiston; sisters Martha Cross of Elgin, Edna Flanery of Portland, and other relatives.
Graveside funeral services were held 2p.m. today at the Elgin Cemetery with Rev. Bill Miller officiating.
Those who wish may make contributions in memory of Manuel Erickson to the American Cancer Society, Oregon Division, Inc. 1530 W.W. Taylor st. Portland, Ore 97205.
Funeral services are under the direction of Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel.
