Laura M. Shaw, 64 of Bellevue died Friday morning at Hayes Green Beech Hospital, Charlotte, after being stricken at Riverside Cafe in Bellevue.
She was born September 4, 1931 to Joe and Myrtle (Hancock) Everett in Pikeville, Tennessee. She was a graduate of Bledsoe County High School. She married James Henry Shaw on October 27, 1952, in Angola, Indiana.
She enjoyed gardening and having coffee with friends at Riverside Cafe.
She is survived by 2 sons, Joe and Torrance Shaw of Bellevue, 3 daughters, Jannette Groom and Joan Franks of Bellevue and Katheryn Crider of Charlotte, 9 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 2 great grand children, 3 sisters Doris Higgins of Bellevue, Katie Tomlinson of Niceville, Florida, Adabell Brown of Dayton, Tennessee and 3 brothers, Ralph Everett of Dayton, Tennessee, James and Herbert Everett of Battle Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband James, and a daughter Mary Jane Shaw.
Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, June 2, at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held Monday, 1 p.m., at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
