Elizabeth I. Albright, age 91 of Exline, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center, Long Term Care in Centerville.

Elizabeth was born on November 29, 1924 in Grimes, Iowa, the daughter of John and Jean (Towers) Temple.  She married Gene Albright on January 20, 1945.
 
Elizabeth had many joys in her life. She enjoyed music, especially playing the organ, which she learned by ear.  She loved going south for the winter, as well as traveling in her camper throughout the United States.  Elizabeth also liked square dancing at the County Fairgrounds with her husband Gene.  She enjoyed collecting dolls throughout her lifetime.  Elizabeth and Gene had a passion for animals and at one point in time, the couple owned and operated a pet shop.  She was also a member of the CB Club of Southern Iowa, known to the CB world by the call name of “Lady Bird.”

She was a caregiver by nature.  Elizabeth was first employed at the old St. Joseph’s Hospital in Centerville as a Nurse’s Aide.  She continued employment at the new hospital in Centerville where she spent many years working in Long Term Care as a Certified Nurse’s Aide.

Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Beverly Shultz of Tulsa, Oklahoma, LaVina Ellen Cornell of Northglenn, Colorado, and Cheryl Lord of Seymour; two brothers, Paul Temple of Exline and David (Pat) Temple of Spokane, Washington; a son-in-law, George Nichols of Seymour; two daughter-in-laws, Patricia Albright of Centerville and Sandra Albright of Onawa, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Darlene Temple of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a special friend, Bonnie Sparks of Centerville; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jean Temple; her husband, Gene Albright; a daughter, Jackie Nichols; two sons, Tom and Robert Albright; two great-grandsons, Rocky Contreras, and Jared Michael Lucht; a sister, Mary Alice Followwill; two brothers, James Temple and Don Temple; two son-in-laws, Bill Lord, and Don Cornell; a sister-in-law, Janice Temple; three nephews, Chuck Temple, Curtis Temple, and Curtis Temple II; and a special friend, Michael Leach.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00PM, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Pastor Kay Singley officiating.  Burial will follow the services at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville.  A visitation will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 2:00-3:00PM at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville.  Memorials have been established to the Seymour Meals On Wheels, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 South 18th St., Centerville, Iowa 52544.  Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com.
