COLEMAN — Quilla Mae Steffey, 95, formerly of Coleman, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016 at Care Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Early.

She was born Jan. 21, 1921 in Tippah, Miss. to Lester and Nettie Sellemires Mathis. She first married Jack Swinford and later married James Steffey in 1968. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Santa Anna. She was a homemaker and had also served as a bookkeeper for her husband’s business.

Survivors include two daughters, Lenora Long of Early and Deloria Hughes of Cross Plains; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands; a daughter, Doris Bradley; a grandson; sister, Junnie Lentz; and brother, Ilan Mathis.
