LAYTON - Evan W. Adams passed away October 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born October 20, 1938 in Layton, Utah to O’Keath Evans and Hattie Harris Watt Adams.

In 1955 he married Lonnie Taylor, together they had three children but later divorced. At the time of his death he was married to Janice A. Adair.

Evan worked for Davis County Glass/Valley Glass Company for over 50 years and served the city of Layton as a volunteer fireman for over 40 years. He was well known and respected in the community and loved by many.

He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and spending time with his family at his cabin in the Uinta Mountains.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Dean Adams, Val Adams, Fern Orton, Itha Hodson and LaRee Bowers.

He is survived by his wife Jan Adams his children: Scott E (Lesle) Adams, Sheldon L. (Lana) Adams, Sheryl (David) Kippen and his brother Von Adams, six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

As a family we would like to thank his wife, Jan and Annette and her staff at Peak Specialty Group for the loving care they gave him, especially over the last few months of his life.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
