William Bartholomew Hines was born in White Sulphur Springs, W.V. on August 21, 1978 to Edward Hines and Mary Leonard. He was a life long resident of the town. He served as postmaster for 15 years. He helped organize the Bank of White Sulphur first as a cashier and by 1920 had worked his way up to become President. Later he had the only moving picture theater in town. He registered for the WW2 draft but did not serve.
He married Nora Cahill on September 20, 1915 in Washington,D.C. They had no children.
He died October 24, 1948 at the age of 70 of a cerebral hemorrhage at a Huntington, W.V. hospital.
