Mr. Blanton was born July 28, 1937, in Oil Springs, KY to Millard and Pearl Jackson Blanton. He lived most of his life in this community.
He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Mount Sterling, Ohio.
Mr. Blanton was preceded in death by his wife, the former Shirley Jean Castle on May 25, 1999; by a son, Carroll Wayne Blanton, Jr. in 1992; a brother, Charles Blanton and two infant brothers.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen M. and Patricia Blanton of New Holland; a grandson, Stephen T. Blanton and his fiancée, Kaitlyn V. Umphries of New Holland; a great granddaughter, Adalyn J. Blanton and a brother and sister-in-law, Harold "Dick" and Cauletta Blanton of Five Points.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
There will be no calling hours.
