Blanche Risetter, age 80, of Wolsey, died Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at the Huron Nursing Home.

Her funeral service was Friday, December 15, 2006, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. A private family burial was at the Wolsey Cemetery.

Blanche Lucille Carney was born February 16, 1926, at Carpenter, South Dakota to Bryan and Minnie Blanche (Alley) Carney. She received her education at Huron where she was the salutatorian of the eighth grade class.

On January 20, 1946 Blanche married Ordean Wilton Risetter at Huron. They farmed southwest of Wolsey until they retired and moved to Wolsey in 1979. She entered the Huron Nursing Home on December 6, 2006, due to ill health.

Blanche was a member of the Wolsey Presbyterian Church and the Wolsey Senior Center. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and helping people.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ordean; three children, Jeannette, Kenneth, and Clinton; two sisters, Ellen and Bernice; and three brothers, Bryan, Lawrence, and John.

Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Clark (Lorry) Risetter, of Huron; her grandson, Matthew (Wendy) Risetter, of Redfield; five great grandchildren, Austin, Jazilynn, Kylie, Matty Jo, and Brady; her sister, Velma DuBois, of Kirkland, Washington; and her brother, Thomas (Betty) Carney, of Marysville, Washington.
