Johnny O. Adams, 89, of Center Ave. passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There will be no visitation. Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, October 10, 2016, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico with Rev. David W. Rogers officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.
Johnny O. Adams was born January 10, 1927 in Junction, Texas to William David and Emma May (Hight) Adams. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. Johnny married Norma "Janie" Lee on November 8, 1947 in Junction, TX. They moved to Carlsbad in 1952 and Johnny went to work for Hill Lines Freight, which later became ICX. After ICX closed, he worked for Gregory Steel until retirement. Johnny was an avid outdoorsman always enjoying hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Janie Adams, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors are his son: Keith Adams and wife, Becky of Albuquerque, NM.; granddaughter: Courtney Markham and husband, Chet of Albuquerque, NM; grandson: Jason Adams and wife, Julie of Torrance, CA; great grandchildren: Kaeleigh Adams and Joshua Adams, brother: Milton Adams as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
