LARS (LOUIS) ANDERSON-MEMORIAL 170946777
Hello. I wanted to bring it to your attention that Louis (birth name Lars) Anderson (memoria1 170946777) first wife was Marta Maria Johannesdatter. Marta was born 19 DEC 1848 in Eiker, Buskerud, Norway. She married Lars (Louis) Anderson 27 Dec 1871 in Eiker, Buskerud, Norway. Two daughters (unnamed) were born and died in Norway (in years 1872 and 1873). Two sons were also born of their union, both born in Norway: Bernhart Theodore (1874-1937) and Anders (Andrew) 1876-1919. The 1900 Federal Census shows that Lars (Louis) Anderson immigrated from Norway to Peshtigo, Marinette County, Wisconsin in 1879. His two sons followed in 1880. His second wife, Ellen (Elen Nickoline Olsen) in 1881. Records indicated that Lars (Louis) and Elen (Ellen) were married on 6-22-1882 in Marinette, WI. So, I happened upon all this information, but NOT what I was looking for! I did an extensive search, trying to find out what happened to the first wife, Marta Marie Johannesdatter Anderson but found absolutely nothing in regard to her death. I would assume it was before 1882 when Louis married his second wife and that she probably died in Norway. I would have loved to have added Marte, because she was the mother of the two boys, Bernhart and Andrew--not Ellen. I will leave it to your discretion as to what you might like to do with this information.
