Dennis was a home body, who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed working on the house or in his yard and was always available to his neighbors when they needed a handyman. He loved music, especially classic rock. Music was a part of any family gathering and he loved to turn it up at work when he was on the loader. He was a sportsman, who liked golf and fishing and was a big Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. He was also an excellent poker player. Family was his number one priority, and he would spend hours with them putting together puzzles and playing games, especially with his beloved granddaughter, Arwyn. His children were his pride and joy and he loved them dearly. He was so proud that Corey was working and making a name for himself in the oilfield, and that Haley was attending college and holding down a full time job. All of his dogs, past and present, held a special place in his heart.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife: Kim Huffty, parents: Gerald and Claudine Huffty, son: Corey Huffty, daughter: Haley Huffty, granddaughter: Arwyn Huffty, and brother: Keith Huffty, all of Odessa, sisters: Shirley Peterman and husband John of Pinehurst, TX and Donna Ahrendt and husband Michael of Odessa, and numerous extended family members.
Memorial services were at 4:00 pm Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell. Arrangements were entrusted to Acres West.
