Dennis Guy Huffty, age 54, of Odessa, passed from this life on Monday, September 29, 2014 at his home. He was born in Delhi, Louisiana on December 19, 1959 to Robert Gerald Huffty and Claudine (Luby) Huffty. He married Kimberly Ann Thompson in Odessa, twenty-five years ago. Dennis worked as an equipment operator, who was known for his skill.
Dennis was a home body, who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed working on the house or in his yard and was always available to his neighbors when they needed a handyman. He loved music, especially classic rock. Music was a part of any family gathering and he loved to turn it up at work when he was on the loader. He was a sportsman, who liked golf and fishing and was a big Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. He was also an excellent poker player. Family was his number one priority, and he would spend hours with them putting together puzzles and playing games, especially with his beloved granddaughter, Arwyn. His children were his pride and joy and he loved them dearly. He was so proud that Corey was working and making a name for himself in the oilfield, and that Haley was attending college and holding down a full time job. All of his dogs, past and present, held a special place in his heart.
