Sudden Death.

After a brief illness, C. T. Hall died at the City hotel Monday night at about 10:30 o'clock of congestion. He came to Shreveport several weeks ago from Vicksburg in accordance with instructions from Capt. J. H. Willard, United States engineer. The deceased had been surveying on Red river at Alexandria before coming to Shreveport. The deceased was graduated at West Point and resigned his position as first lieutenant of the Second United States cavalry in the fall of the year 1885. From that time he was actively engaged in surveying and engineering work. His mother resides in Chicago. Lieut. Hall was attended by Dr. J. F. O'Leary and received all the care and attention that could be bestowed upon him. The remains were interred yesterday in the city cemetery. Rev. Mr. Scruggs of the Methodist church officiated at the burial.

Possibly a son of Theodosia Tompkins Hall, in a short bio in Historic Families of Kentucky:

"Theodosia, third daughter of Judge Tompkins, married Mr. Hall of Barren. One of her sons, C. T. Hall, graduated with credit at West Point, was assigned to the Second Artillary, and is an officer of the regular army.
