Deceased Name: JAMES WILSON BURNS
James Wilson Burns, 65, of Davilla and Austin, died Tuesday, September 2, 1997, in Marlin, Texas.
For 40 years, Mr. Burns had worked at Bartlet Lumber Company, Wickes Lumber Company, Calcasieu Lumber Company, and White's Auto and was a member of the Christian Church in Davilla. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ann Campbell Burns in 1981.
Survivors include a daughter, Maribeth Bartz and husband, Gene, and children, Brad and Brent, of Belton; son, Mike Burns and wife, Paula, and children, Craig and Sarah, of Georgetown; and sisters, Christine McKetchan of Midway, RosaLee Keller of Bartlett, Jewell Petty of Victoria, Florine McDonald of Abilene, and Billie Laning of Llano.
Memorials may be given to Davilla Cemetery Association, First United Methodist Church Youth in Temple, or American Cancer Society.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 4, 1997, at 4:00 p.m. at Goodnight Funeral Home Chapel, Bartlett, Texas, with Reverend Hubert Austin officiating. Interment will follow in Davilla Cemetery.
