Cecil M. “Jack” Ray, 83, Rt. 2, Alexandria, died Tuesday at St. John’s Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 17, 1906, in Tipton County, and had lived in the Anderson area since 1926.
He farmed in Delaware County and then moved back to Madison County. He retired in 1971 Ray from Delco Remy after 42 years of employment. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church, Daleville American Legion, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothea (Hackett) Ray; one brother, Lawrence Ray of Windfall; one half brother, Wilbur McGill of Elwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a m. Friday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Lams Kineman officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cecil & Dorothea Ray Scholarship Fund at Bethany Christian Church.
