Ivy Lee Bedell, 79, of Big Spring, died Sunday morning, February 20, 2005, at Scenic Mountain Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 4:00 PM Tuesday at Trinity Memorial Park with Joe Whitten officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 PM Monday at Myers & Smith Funeral Home.
She was born May 25, 1925, in Big Spring, to Ivy McMurray and Clara Heckler McMurray. She married Brooks Bedell on January 12, 1946, in Big Spring. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1998. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had worked in the church nursery for many years. Mrs. Bedell was a homemaker and also worked with her husband in the operation of Bedell Yamaha. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring.
She is survived by 1 son: Johnny Bedell and his wife Ceil of Big Spring; 1 grandson: Steven Bedell and his wife Tina of Big Spring; 2 granddaughters: Sabrina Bedell and Savana Bedell, both of Big Spring; 2 sisters: Mary Klahr of Eunice, New Mexico, and Dorothy Newby of Big Spring; 4 brothers: Ray McMurray of Lohn, Texas; J. R. McMurray of Midland, Earl McMurray and Edmond McMurray, both of Big Spring; 1 aunt: Zelma Heckler, of Big Spring; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Steven Bedell, Daniel Andrews, Reg Cranford, Stuart Sincleair, Brandon McMurray, and Craig Clark.
