Betty Irene Parrish Allen, age 95, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in Smithfield Manor. Born July 19, 1921 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Julion Bartley and Fleeter House Parrish. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rufus Allen; daughter, Marian Weisse; sisters, Louise Peedin, Flora Mae Austin, Mattie Williams, and Pauline Johnson; and brothers, Earl Parrish and James Parrish.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening, October 6, 2016 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. L.E. Godwin and Rev. Mike Walls. The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. just prior to the service. Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in Burnell Baptist Church in Four Oaks.
Surviving are her daughter, Tammy McLean and husband Stephen of Smithfield; son-in-law, Jim Weisse; grandchildren, Charles Weisse, Scott Weisse, Jon Weisse, and Ted Weisse; and great grandchildren, Austin Weisse, Kody Weisse, Kylie Weisse, Bailey Weisse, and Ryder Weisse.
