Graveside memorial services for James A. Boatman, 79, of Nacogdoches will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Alazan Cemetery with Rev. W.E. Fuller officiating. Mr. Boatman passed away Monday, October 3rd, 2016, in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born November 25, 1936 in Nacogdoches to John C. and Alma Wells Boatman. He was Baptist and had worked for many years at Central Freight Lines in Houston. He had served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 until 1957 and had also served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army from 1958 till 1962. Mr. Boatman was preceded in death by son Greg Boatman, sister Buna Blalock and brother Arlon Mooney. He is survived by son Tony Boatman (Jody) of Georgetown, sister Linda Fuller (Lyndon) of Nacogdoches, brothers Gerald Boatman (Pat) and Troy Boatman both of Jacksonville, grandchildren Cereese Hollen, Anthony G. Boatman and Callie Kokajko as well as great grandchildren Noah and Luke Hollen.
