Mrs. Ueberroth, age 89 years, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Heartland Healthcare-Hampton. She was born in Bay City on August 7, 1927 to the late Adam and Elizabeth (Schafer) Schuardt. Lorraine was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, canning, craft projects and playing bingo. On May 20, 1950, she married Charles E. Ueberroth. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2016 after 65 years of marriage. She is survived by 3 children: Linda Quigley, Nancy (Frank) Majdecki and Dennis (Shirley) Ueberroth, 4 grandchildren: Erin (Brian) Owen, Josh (Katrina) Quigley, Kami (Stephen) Trawick and Nathan (Elizabeth DeLong) Ueberroth, 9 great grandchildren: Jeffery, Elizabeth, Abigail, Makalyn, Piper, Andrew, Lucas, Lilli and Ezra., 5 step grandchildren: Karsyn, Autumn, Alexis, Ryan and Tyler, 2 step grandchildren: Amanda Spaulding and Frank Majdecki Jr, as well as a sister, Kathleen Fournier. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Rev. Ronald J. Quigley, a sister, June Drescher, as well as 2 brothers-in-law, Ray Fournier and Elmer Drescher. Funeral and Committal Services will be on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the Trinity Ev. Lutheran School Gymnasium, 1901 Broadway (due to flooring work in the church). The Rev. Richard D. Starr will officiate and private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. at Penzien-Steele Funeral Home. She will lie in state on Friday in the school gymnasium from 12 Noon until service time. Memorial contributions can be made to the wishes of the family. The family would like to extend special thanks to the nursing staff and aides of Heartland Healthcare-Hampton for the wonderful care that they gave to Lorraine.
