Cora Fay Cromwell, 77, Downers Grove, Ill., died at her residence Monday, April 5. A former Winamac resident, she had been in failing health for a year. She was born in Illinois to Lewis Balding Sr. and Emily Rusk Balding March 1, 1899. She married James W. Cromwell Aug. 2, 1916 in Villa Grove, Ill., who preceded her in death March 30, 1975. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Flanagan, Downers Grove., Ill., and Mrs. Elaine Kennedy, Griffith, Ind; a brother Lewis Balding Jr., Decatur, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs, Hazel Jones, Las Vegas, Nev., and Mrs. Rose Maxfield, Phoenix, Ariz., four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Friday, April 9, at 2 p.m. at Fry & Lange Mortuary, Winamac, with the Rev. John Sargent officiating. Burial was at McKinley Memorial Gardens.
