Clara Louise Franklin, 91, of Muncie, went home Saturday morning, Aug. 27, 2016 at Elmcroft of Muncie. She was born July 24, 1925 in Albany, IN, and was the daughter of the late Carl & Melva (Starr) Driscoll.
Clara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She truly loved her family more than anything, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Clara was a loving and caring person who always saw the good in everyone; she enjoyed helping and serving others through her giving to many charities. She had a great love for animals; there wasn't a stray animal that ever went unfed.
Clara is survived by her three children, Ronald (Gale) Franklin, Phyllis Eby, and Linda Meyer; two stepdaughters, Vickie (Dick) Knief and Pam (Clark) Canada; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin R. Franklin; a daughter, Joyce Carrier; a son-in-law, Ernie Eby; and two sisters, Pauline Dautrich and Myrtle Tenney.
Funeral Services for Clara will be held Wednesday at 12 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Trimble officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Muncie Mission, 1725 S. Liberty St., Muncie, IN 47302 and with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
