FUNERAL- On Friday afternoon, the funeral of Mr Alexander Clements, a roundsman of the Metropolitan Police, took place from his late residence, in the First Ward, and was largely attended, a detail of forty policemen following the remains to Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Mr Clements was one of the first men appointed on the force, and for good conduct he was made a roundsman. He was a man of excellent character, and endeared himself to all with whom he associated. He had been confined to his house for four months, during which time his fellow- policemen were very attentive to him.
