Sidney C. Francisco was born on February 5, 1941 and passed away on October 1, 2016 at his home in Franklin, TN surrounded by loving family. He is preceded in death by parents, Carney and Katherine Francisco. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Josephine “Jo” McGaughy Francisco; daughters: Nicole Francisco Slyman and husband Todd of Huntsville, AL and Sydney Jo Francisco of Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Todd John Slyman, Lauren Alexis Slyman and Jack Carney Slyman. He graduated from Isaac Litton High School in Nashville, TN where he was a member of the well known "Marching 100" band and was a graduate of Tennessee Tech University.

Sid entered the U S Army and served in Germany for 3 years as well as a tour in Vietnam. He served as Postal Officer in Quinon, Vietnam where he earned the Army Air Medal. After he left active duty he returned to Nashville where he joined the Tennessee Army National Guard, retiring with the rank of Colonel.

For 43 years he was an active, well known member of the insurance industry. He associated chiefly with Martin Hayes & Company, Seabury and Smith and Health 1 2 3, after which he established his private brokerage firm of Francisco & Associates. He proudly served on the Board of Directors for the Northwest YMCA for several years.

Sid enjoyed golf for many years, and was proud to have hit a hole in one at Temple Hills Golf Course. He and Jo enjoyed their second home in Sandestin, FL. It was his favorite vacation destination.

Sid loved travel and never met a stranger because he seemed to know people wherever he went. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Woodmont Christian Church, 3601 Hillsboro Rd. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery.
