SHREVEPORT - Services for Mr. Lester E. Houston, 69, of Shreveport, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday August 9 at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel. Dr. N.O. Pugh, pastor of Senior Adults of First Baptist Church of Shreveport, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Charles E. Houston, pastor of Gateway Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery.

Mr. Houston died Thursday August 7, 1986, at Schumpert Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Colquitt, La. and had been a resident of Shreveport most of his life. Mr. Houston was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marceline G. Houston of Shreveport; three sons, Charles E. Houston of San Antonio, Texas, John R. Houston of Marshall, Texas and Gerald R. Houston of Ruston, La.; three step-children, Karen Carpenter of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Roger Slagle of Garland, Texas and Clay Slagle of Shreveport; one sister, Elizabeth H. Kelker of Shreveport; two brothers, Ottis Houston of Pontotoc, Miss. and David Houston of Baton Rouge, La.; and seven grandchildren.
