Harry was a son of Franklin "Frank" Johnson and Elizabeth Somers Johnson. He had one sibling, John S. Johnson, who lived to adulthood. Two siblings, Kate and Lorenzo, apparently died in childhood as they were only listed in one US Census. Harry married Ida Gibison and his brother, John, married Ida's sister, Linda. Both couples are buried in Eglington Cemetery.
