Robert G. Hodgins, age 74, of Gladwin, passed away Friday, September 27, 2002 at the MidMichigan Medical Center-Gladwin. Bob was born November 4, 1927 in Saginaw to George and Catherine (McInnis) Hodgins. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was a member of American Legion Post 22 in Saginaw.
Bob married the former Kathleen Krueger on May 7, 1949 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Saginaw. She survives him.
He loved to hunt and fish, and was a past member of the Gladwin area Walleye Association and the Wiggins Lake Property Owners Association. He was a retired superintendent with the Grey Iron Foundry in Saginaw.
Surviving him are his wife, Kathleen; three sons, Robert (Suzanne) Hodgins of Reese, Richard (Darlene) Hodgins of Saginaw, and James (Mary) Hodgins of Gladwin; three granddaughters, Christine (Trevor) Wilson, Stefanie (James) Mattson, and Ashley (Phillip) Pruchinsky; five grandsons, Ryan (Melissa) Hodgins, Justin, Shawn, Michael and Brandon Hodgins. Four sisters and one brother predecease him.
Services were held 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 1 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin. Fr. Patrick Jankowiak officiated and burial took place in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Gladwin. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Church, American Cancer Society, or The American Lung Association.
