Bruce attended Hooker, Oklahoma schools, was a member of the First Baptist Church, was a member of 4-H and FFA, winning many awards for his livestock, showing Landrace Hogs and Cattle. Bruce flew a crop duster plane, a spraying operation based out of Guymon. He was a past President of Guymon Jaycees, and taught Sunday School at a church in Guymon.
He raised cattle, and farmed for his folks, and later began raising sheep for shows, and fleece, although it went against his Cowboy mentality at first. Excelling with computers, he often helped family and friends set theirs up or find a solution when it froze up. As a working member of the local NRA, he enjoyed shooting competitions and reloading his own shells. He worked as a pumper in the gas well industry and was enroute to that job when killed in a foggy morning accident.
Mourned by many friends and family, including The Grassland Gang Gunfighters, a group of re-enactors of area history. He acted as Sheriff Blackie. Always a big reader, he enjoyed the books of Louis L'Amour, and often commented he might have been born a hundred years too late. He loved dearly the grandchildren he was able to meet this side of heaven.
