He was a parts man for Beatrice Iron and Metal. He also sold cars for Beardmore and Carriage. He was a member of First Christian Church, Beatrice, Nebraska. He sang in the choir. He was a member of the Loyal Philathian sunday school class. He enjoyed golfing and watching baseball.






Survivors: daughter, Marilyn Carstens and husband, Gary, of Castle Rock, Colorado; grandson, Jay Carstens and Vicki Kirchhoff of Lincoln; granddaughter, Jill Tee of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Black of Wymore; brother-in-law, Bob Black and wife Mildred, of Beatrice; nieces and nephews.






Preceded in death by parents, Chris and Johanna (Kommers) Baker; wife, Ellamae Baker; and two brothers.






Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 23, 2006, at First Christian Church, 105 North 7th, Beatrice, Nebraska. Officiating: Pastor David Bigley. Family prayer service at 10:45 A.M. in church parlor. Burial: Evergreen Home Cemetery, Beatrice, Nebraska. Visitation: Friday from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Harman-Wright Mortuary.
