Lorraine Frances Byrnes passed away on November 26, 2011 after a brief illness. She was born in Nyack, NY on March 7 1929, the youngest child of George and Irene Byrnes. She lived in Sparkill and graduated from Nyack HS. She moved to Florida in 1961 and made that her home for the rest of her life. Lorraine worked in the medical field in administration. She loved her yard, her pets and her family. She was always up for an adventure, a picnic, shopping, a flea market, a park, garden center or grocery store. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, baking and Christmas. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved siblings, George, Sis, Eddie, Rita, and Jessie. She is survived by her two daughters Kathleen Ballo and Irene Toto, her son in law Doug Newsham, her granddaughter and sidekick, Elizabeth Ballo and her grandson Michael Ballo. The light of her life for the past two years was her great grandson Finnegan, who will miss his GG greatly. She was Aunt Rainey to many nieces and nephews, whom she loved, especially Jimmy, Lynn, Patty, Kenny and Caroline too. Lorraine loved to laugh and to make others laugh and those who were fortunate enough to know her will cherish the memories. A strong, kind, generous woman she leaves the world a better place for having been in it. A Catholic Mass and a celebration of her life will be scheduled later in Nyack. Consider planting some flowers or a tree in a place where you and others can enjoy, this would make her happy.
