Elizabeth was born in Frankfort to Frederick and Betty (Harrer) Smith. She married Terry A. O'Donnell on Oct. 4, 1999. He survives. Elizabeth was a registered Nurse and was employed with the Marion VA Hospital as a Nurse Manager, retiring in 2004. She attended Chapel Pike Wesleyan Church. Dogs were very important to Elizabeth, and she was on the Board of the Mississinewa Valley Obedience Training Club, where she was an instructor for the Puppy Class. She was a member of the Indiana State Nurses Association and the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.
Survivors include her husband, Terry A. O'Donnell, Marion; mother, Betty Smith, Frankfort; brothers, Frederick K Smith Jr., Lafayette; Victor I. Smith, Grand Rapids; grandmother, Margaret E. Smith, Emmaus, Penn.; aunt, Jean Sutton, Houston; Janine Smith, Emmaus, Penn.; Ruth Smith, Gas City; several cousins, nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by the families of Timothy O'Donnell and Terra O'Donnell.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frederick Smith.
