RAYMOND E. ARNDELL, age 88, of Hobart, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.
Ray was born on August 29, 1932 in Mulenburg, KY to the late Ervin and Modi (nee Grimes) Arndell. On November 10, 1951, he married the love of his life Billie Lou (nee Addison) Arndell and spent 68 years together until her death. He was an operator at Inland Steel and retired after 35 years of service. He was a friend of Bill W and enjoyed helping others. Ray loved to tell jokes and stories. He was described by others as a "character" or simply "trouble" because he was always up to something. Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Ray is survived by his children: Billy Ray Arndell, Kimberly Sue (Jim) Joy, and Debra (Robert) Macleod; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; and other friends and family.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Dorothy Arndell, Irene Conn, and Edna (late Burly) Hardison.
A public visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2021 from 1:00-5:00 P.M. from Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W. Old Ridge Rd, Hobart). Funeral services will be private and he will be laid to rest next to his wife at Blake Cemetery
