Mrs. Ira Auchampaugh
Since Thursday of last week three families in this immediate vicinity have been left to mourn the departure of loved ones. The first was that of Ira Auchampaugh who on the 10th inst. stood at the bedside of his beloved wife until she fell in that sleep from which none ever wakes to weep. Anna was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P.P. Merrihew of this village, and unto them as well as to the husband and two children, (the one an infant) this sore affliction falls heavily, and not unto them alone but this entire community feels to weep with those who weep, for a friend indeed, loved and respected by all who knew her, has passed away making one less, and a vacant chair in the home circle. A large congregation attended the funeral services at the Christian Church, Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, which of itself is evident that the departed was held in high esteem by the people of this village and vicinity and by others of her acquaintance.
